We had never heard of prawn fishing until Tony invited us along with his friend Barry and Barry’s son | They took us to Bottle Tree Park, a popular place for the activity | Each person is issued a pole with a string and hook, some bait, and a net basket in case you actually catch something | The setting is reasonably scenic. They have a lot more than just prawn fishing on the grounds, including a small lake. | Guinness appears to have something on the hook | We shared the fishing pond with a couple dozen other people |
The wedding party didn’t join us for prawn fishing, but even so it seemed like an unusual place to have any sort of nuptial activities | Even without casting, or a reel, or anything like that, somehow Debra managed to get the hook stuck on the overhead tarp | It was hooked in pretty well! | Tony is a old pro, and was ready to help when Flynn snagged a prawn | Guinness got a chance to hold one of the prawns too | While we fished, Albert wandered around the grounds. We took the prawns home, and later Betty made stir fry of them! |
